Zinio - Magazine Reader
We've recently updated our subscription and you can now see Zinio's top 100 magazines. We also provide unlimited access to our archive, which you can even view on a mobile device. If you need any help,you can read our user guide which shows you how to use Zinio.
The British Newspaper is a partnership between the British Library and brightsolid online publishing to digitize up to 40 million newspaper pages from the British Library's vast collection over the next 10 years. New pages are added every day from hundreds of local and regional newspapers from across the UK and Ireland. Get a real sense of Britian's history. Read it today, as it happened.
It includes pages from newspapers published up to 1950, concentrating mainly on post 1800 material but some editions as early as 1716 are available.

e-books and audio books
OverDrive allows you to borrow e-books and audiobooks for free from bestsellers to classics. It is compatible on a wide range of devices but unfortunately not the Kindle e-readers yet (but works just fine with the Kindle Fire). All you need to get started is an Internet connection, your library card and PIN number. For more information on how to get started get in touch with your local library or visit OverDrive Help.
OverDrive also provides an e-reading room for children, allowing them to browse safely and see a selection of age appropriate titles.
