Free furniture collection by the British Heart Foundation
If your furniture is in good condition and can be reused, the British Heart Foundation can collect it for free. They sell the furniture, and all proceeds go towards heart disease research and patient care.
Before collection:
- Keep furniture indoors, clean and dry
Collection times:
- Wednesday to Saturday, 8am to 3pm
Book a collection:
- Visit British Heart Foundation to book and check what they can collect
- If your furniture is not as described, they may refuse collection
- You can still book a free collection with us or take items to one of our recycling centres

Free bulky waste collection by Enfield Council
We collect furniture and other non-electrical bulky items from your home free of charge.
We collect:
- Armchairs, sofas and futons
- Bathroom furniture (plastic or ceramic only)
- Beds (base, mattress and headboard count as 1 item)
- Carpets and rugs (tie into bundles)
- Doors (without glass)
- Dustbins
- Fence panels (tie into bundles and remove nails)
- Mirrors
- Plastic water tanks
- Rotary washing lines
- Satellite dishes
- Tables and chairs
- Trampolines (must be taken apart)
- Wood flooring (tie into bundles and remove nails)
We do not collect:
- Bricks
- Building material
- Electrical items (see information on electrical collections below)
- Garden waste
- Gas bottles
- Glass panels (such as shower screens)
- Large fluid containers
- Rubble and soil
- Tree trunks and thick branches
- Tyres
- Windows and patio doors
Important information about bulky waste collections
- Number of items: You can book up to 6 items per collection
- Collection day:
- Your free collection will be based on your postcode – we will confirm when you book
- You can choose a specific day for £19 – see information below
- Where to leave items:
- At the front edge of your property by 5:30am on your booked collection day
- If you live in a block of flats, leave items by the bin store or your usual rubbish collection area
- You do not need to be home for the collection
- Collection times: Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 4pm
- Items not left out: If your items are not out for collection on your booked collection day, you will not receive a refund
- Only put out the correct items: Items put out for collection that are not as described, or properly taken apart will not be collected. Additional waste will also not be taken.
Flats and council housing estates
Leave bulky items outside the bin store. Items left elsewhere will be treated as fly-tipping and reported to waste enforcement for further investigation. Speak to your Caretaking Service team for further advice about disposing of bulky waste responsibly.

- Fee: £19
- Book before 12pm for next-day collection
- Once paid, your booking is confirmed

To reschedule or cancel a collection, contact customer services on 020 8379 1000.
You will not receive a refund if you cancel with less than 1 working days' notice.

Free electrical collections by AnyJunk
You can book a free collection of electrical items through AnyJunk.
They collect:
- Fridges
- Freezers
- TV or monitors
- Cookers
- Tumble dryers
- Microwaves
- Dishwashers
- Vacuum cleaners
- Washing machines
- Other large domestic appliances
Before collection:
- Empty all items (for example, fridges must be clear of food)
- Full items may not be collected
This service is run by AnyJunk for the North London Waste Authority. Wait times may be longer than Enfield Council’s paid service.

They accept:
- Anything with a plug, battery or cable

Electrical collections by Enfield Council
We can collect electrical appliances and equipment for a fee.
- Up to 3 household electrical items per collection
- No limit on collections per year
We collect:
- cookers
- computers
- dishwashers
- fridges and freezers
- electric lawnmowers
- microwaves
- small electricals (such as kettles and hairdryers)
- storage heaters (without bricks)
- tumble dryers and washing machines
- TVs, videos, stereos and DVD players
Cost:
- 1 item: £54
- 2 items: £60
- 3 items: £66
Important information about your electrical collection
- Booking:
- Book by 12:30pm on Friday for collection the following week
- Collections booked after this time will not be actioned
- Once you have made your payment, your booking is confirmed
- Where to leave your items:
- At the front edge of your property by 5:30am on your booked collection day
- If you live in a block of flats, leave items by the bin store or your usual rubbish collection area
- Collection times: Usually Wednesdays, between 5:30am and 4pm
- Items not left out: If your items are not out for collection on your booked collection day, you will not receive a refund

There is a £24 charge for cancelling your collection with less than 3 working days' notice. You will not receive a refund if you cancel with less than 1 working days' notice.
