We asked you about how you use our Children’s Centre sites and your views on proposed changes to our programme.

There are currently five Children’s Centre sites in the borough, offering a limited range of support services and activities for families with children under five years of age.

Like all local authorities, we are facing significant funding pressures. As a Council, we have a duty to set a balanced budget, but we have faced difficult financial challenges and an overall reduction in funding of 42% since 2010. We need to make savings of £39.4 million in 2024/25, and there is a forecasted budget gap of £118.7 million for the five years through to 2028/29.

Who could share their views

We are looking to hear from those who feel they may be impacted by the proposed changes, including those who currently use our Children’s Centre sites or those who may use the sites in the future.

In addition, we would like to hear from our partners, such as those from the voluntary and community sector.

How you shared your views

Local people completed our questionnaire. While we asked representatives from partner organisations to share their views by email.
