The Educational Psychology Service and special educational needs
Enfield Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is commissioned by the Enfield Special Educational Needs Service to provide information, advice and support to children who live in Enfield with special educational needs.
The EPS may become involved with a child or young person if the SEN service asks us to do the following:
- provide psychological advice as part of an education, health and care needs assessment
- provide psychological advice as part of a child’s reassessment, if their needs may have significantly changed from those stated in their education, health and care needs
- provide evidence as an expert witness at SENDIST tribunals, when the SEN service and the child’s parents do not agree about a child’s special educational provision or placement
- provide consultation or intervention for children and young people, their parents or schools as part of the support detailed in their education, health and care plan
