Introduction
The quality of housing significantly influences people's health, and inadequate housing contributes to health disparities. By ensuring individuals have access to suitable housing, we can potentially delay or minimize their reliance on health and care services in the future, allowing them to maintain their independence, health, and well-being for a longer duration. It has been estimated that poor housing costs the NHS approximately £1.4 billion annually, but the measures outlined in this model can help alleviate this financial burden by addressing issues related to substandard housing.
