Welcome to Housing Gateway
Formed in 2014, Housing Gateway Limited (HGL) is a wholly owned Enfield Council company. Its founding purpose was to assist the council in reducing its temporary accommodation budget pressure. It offers assured shorthold tenancies against which the council can discharge its homelessness duties.
Since Housing Gateway’s inception, it has built up a portfolio of 1,332 homes and a strong balance sheet. It has provided a quality housing solution for over 2,500 families and hopes to continue expanding to support the council’s aims, eradicate the use of temporary accommodation, and prevent homelessness.

Housing Gateway has ambitious goals to expand its portfolio by a further 100 properties under its ownership every year.
Housing Gateway aims to provide a broader range of rent products to meet the differing households’ requirements of local residents. Additionally, Housing Gateway will be collaborating with the council to create innovative solutions the council cannot deliver on its own, in line with the Enfield Council’s Housing Strategy.
