Cllr Gina Needs, Cabinet Member for Community Cohesion and Enforcement at Enfield Council, said:
“The violence and disorder that we have seen across the country over the last few days is deplorable and the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
“Enfield is a diverse borough whose communities will always stand together against those seeking to divide us. There is no place for violence and hatred in our borough.
“To provide reassurance and support to our residents at this unsettling time we are working closely with local community partners and the Police who have increased patrols in the borough.
“Our community safety team are also reaching out to local Mosques and places of worship. Enfield takes pride in being a borough of all faiths and none.
“If residents do witness any incidents of hate crime in our borough please report them immediately.
"Enfield Council denounces hate crime in the strongest terms and will continue to work closely with the Police to ensure our residents are safe and the borough is kept free from hate.
"If you are a victim of hate crime or want to report a hate crime call 101 or report online at the Metropolitan Police website or in an emergency call 999."
