Dugdale Arts Centre, in partnership with Hype & Genius, is on the lookout for future musicians, technicians and promoters to join an exclusive music masterclass series.

The Business of Music is a free programme open to young people aged 16 to 30 with an aim to teach the ins-and-outs of the music industry.

Supported by Enfield Council, the programme will offer unparalleled access to professionals and real-world experience to those wanting to understand how the music business operates, what roles are available and how to manage pitfalls and challenges.

The introductory course, held in-person, covers music industry roles, marketing, branding, music business law and more. The first workshop will commence on 16 October 2024.

The intermediate sessions will take place online and will focus on advanced label and distribution insight, live tours, music tech, market analytics and music synchronisation. The first workshop will start on 28 October 2024.

Cabinet Member for Environment, Culture and Public Spaces, Cllr Chinelo Anyanwu said: “We are excited to champion an initiative like The Business of Music, which allows individuals in Enfield to explore and learn what they are most passionate about – music! The key learnings offered in these masterclasses will help open many doors and shine a light on new talent.”

Enfield Council is committed to investing in the creative sector to bring more opportunities for residents to help strengthen their creative skills.

There are limited spaces available for the programme. No previous experience is required. To apply for The Business of Music, click here or for more information visit Dugdale Arts Centre. The deadline to apply is 7 October 2024.
