Enfield Council's Leader, Cllr Nesil Caliskan has written to the managing director of Surface Transport at Transport for London about improving travel links to Chase Farm Hospital. Her letter in full is as follows:
24 October 2018
Dear Mr Powell
Re: Improved Transport Links to Chase Farm Hospital
I am writing to you regarding the redevelopment work at Chase Farm Hospital and the transport links to the hospital which is of concern to local residents.
I know both Sir David Sloman, Group Chief Executive and Natalie Forrest, Chase Farm Hospital's Chief Executive, have raised concerns about the existing routes to Chase Farm Hospital with you in a letter dated 20 July 2018 and I have also received representation from the Enfield Over-50s Forum on this matter.
The new hospital will be the centre for non-emergency surgical procedures and will therefore receive many patients who would normally have had their procedures carried out at other hospital sites. It has been suggested that a bus link from Oakwood Underground Station would reduce the number of changes for patients when travelling by Public Transport to the hospital.
I would be grateful if you would look at the existing routes to Chase Farm Hospital to see if any improvements could be made to ensure Patients and visitors travelling to the hospital can do so without any difficulty and the least disruption as possible.
I look forward to receiving your response.
Yours sincerely
Nesil Caliskan
Leader of the Council
