An exciting pop-up street market will be opening in Ponders End this summer, showcasing wonderful produce and providing family-friendly entertainment for all to enjoy.
In response to residents’ wishes, Enfield Council is bringing the Ponders End Park Market, run in partnership with Epicurean Events, to the area during seven weekends in June and July.
Enfield Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Business, Cllr Alan Sitkin, said: “With the support of its residents, we are sure this market will be a huge success. It’s also a great opportunity for local traders to drum up businesses and show off their wares in the true spirit of entrepreneurship.
“If you are visiting, why not make a whole day of your visit? As well as seeing the market itself and enjoying the party feeling there, follow your trip with a stroll down the high street and a play in the local park.”
The market will have a launch party on the weekend of 3 June which will include free entertainment including face-painting and the Tottenham Hotspur “Penalty Challenge”. For any budding Harry Kanes out there, you will have the chance to beat a keeper by hitting the back of the net as many times as possible in 60 seconds. And of course, there will be plenty of food stalls to whet the appetite.
Enfield Council is encouraging local traders to get involved - if you are a local trader and would be interested in selling produce at the market, contact neighbourhoodregeneration@enfield.gov.uk to find out what opportunities are available. The market will be held at a prime location, at the High Street entrance to Ponders End Park.
Look out for Twitter and Facebook posts in the run up to the launch, offering further information on the opportunities at Ponders End Park Market. Follow @EnfieldCouncil. People keen to visit are encouraged to do so by foot, bike or by public transport. There is a bus stop directly in front of Ponders End Park’s entrance, servicing bus routes 279, 377 and 491 while Ponders End and Southbury train stations are nearby.
Ponders End has been identified as a regeneration priority area. For information on the work going on in the area, see our Ponders End page.
The Ponders End Park Market will be held from 10am to 4pm on 3/4 June, 10/11 June, 17/18 June, 1/2 July, 8/9 July, 15/16 July, 22/23 July. Enfield Council is working in partnership with Epicurean Events an event company that focuses on bringing uniquely curated experiences, centred around delicious good food to the London street food scene.
We look forward to seeing you there!
