– the context of Domestic Abuse & so called Honour Based Abuse
– the definitions of Honour Based Abuse/Forced Marriage & Government / Policing Strategy
– the differences between Arranged / Forced Marriage & why they happen
– the risk indicators / triggers why an individual may suffer Honour Based Abuse / Forced Marriage
– To challenge community/cultural beliefs
Advance level – 90 minutes
– To be able to risk assess and manage the risk to support victims / children – work with case studies
– To learn how practitioners can identify the risks in an agency setting and safety plan
– To understand the Forced Marriage Protection Legislation (Criminal & FMPOs) & immigration / policy to support victims with No Recourse to Public Funds (Spousal Visa only)Missed opportunities – the lived experience survivor story
