Pay an auction registration fee
A premises needs to be registered in order to sell goods by competitive bidding (public auction). One-day charity event auctions are exempt, and in this case, proof of charity status is required.
It is a criminal offence to hold an auction without registering and, if convicted, you could be given a £5,000 fine.

If your application is unsuccessful, you may appeal to a magistrates' court within 21 days of the decision.
