Pay a gaming machine permit fee
Notification of up to 2 gaming machines
Under the Licensing Act 2003, a premises licence holder is entitled to provide up to 2 gaming machines, (for example, fruit machines and slot machines), and are either Category C or D, in a licensed premises. The premises licence holder must notify us using the application form below. The notification fee is £50 and no annual fee is payable.
Permit for more than 2 gaming machines
If more than 2 machines are required on a licensed premises, the premises licence holder must apply for a gaming machine permit using the application form below. The permit application fee is £150 and an annual fee of £50 is payable.
You can use our application form to:
- notify us of 2 machines or less
- apply for a new permit (more than 2 machines)
- renew, transfer or make a variation to an existing permit
It is a criminal offence to carry out unlicensed activities, and if convicted you could be given a £20,000 fine and a 6 month prison term.

If your application is unsuccessful, you may appeal to a magistrates' court within 21 days of the decision.
