KRATOS is a group of children in care who meet regularly to make changes and improve services for others in care. Being part of KRATOS gives children and young people a voice and influence.
KRATOS members are able to:
- build new friendships
- take part in fun and positive activities
- inspect children’s services
- use their voice to influence services provided to them
- provide training to professions that work directly with looked after children
Achievement day
Achievement day is an annual celebration dedicated to honouring the accomplishments of looked after children. It provides a joyous occasion filled with a variety of engaging activities.
On this special day, children can immerse themselves in fun experiences, such as:
- a bouncy castle
- getting creative with face painting and arts and crafts
- being entertained by a magician
- exploring a book stall
- taking part in sports like football and basketball
They can also enjoy soft play, express themselves on a graffiti wall, and join in a lively dance workshop.
The highlight of the event is the awarding of certificates on stage, presented by the councillor and other notable figures, recognising the children's achievements. Achievement day is not only a time for celebration, but also a chance for these children to have fun and feel appreciated.
See pictures below from last year’s achievement day!
This year, achievement day will take place on Saturday the 28 September 2024.
