Hosting events

You can apply to host an event in one of our parks. Event organisers will need to complete a park event permit application form (PDF, 282.73 KB) and a park event risk assessment (PDF, 394.49 KB). View our fees and charges for 2024-2025 (PDF, 291.26 KB).

In spring 2020, we carried out a midpoint review of the Event Strategy 2017-2022. This involved wide consultation to reinforce the importance that events play in the community. View the Park Events Strategy 2017-2022 review (PDF, 807.64 KB).

We have included recommendations from the review into an Events Policy (PDF, 8658.9 KB).

The Event Management Plan (PDF, 190 KB) is a document to assist event organisers in developing a comprehensive plan of the event and would need to be completed for events over 1,000 people.

The cost depends on the size and type of event you want to hold. There is a non-refundable administration fee for all applications.

Email parkactivities@enfield.gov.uk your completed application form and relevant supporting documents.

We look at each application individually and will contact you with our decision or to request further information. You may need to consult nearby residents and gain approval from the emergency services.

Event organisers must maintain public liability insurance with a limit of indemnity of at least £10 million. We do not allow balloons, confetti, fireworks, lanterns and floating candles on council land.

Any events or activities taking place in our parks that relate to education requires planning permission and parks approval. For planning advice, email planning.support@enfield.gov.uk and a planning officer will advise whether planning permission is required.

To hold an event you may require a licence, but some parks do have a premises licence. For more information see our premises licensing page.

Safety Advisory Group events

Safety Advisory Group (SAG) provides guidance for organisers so they can run their events safely. They do not assist in planning or take responsibility for the event, as this is for the organiser to do.

SAG will advise and make observations about events and some SAG members with statutory responsibility may act in the interests of public safety.

Monthly SAG meetings are organised to coincide with the event planning process each year. Major event organisers should go to a SAG meeting before applying to us for a license.

2024 event capacity

The capacity for major events in 2024 will be 10,000 attendees each day of any event. This is linked to the ongoing review of our events programmes within the borough’s parks and open spaces.

We will consider both commercial and community ‘major’ event applications. However, there will be a significant reduction from the previous capacity of 25,000 attendees.
