Why volunteer with us?

How to become a volunteer

To become a volunteer, you must first sign-up to Better Impact. Then, email volunteer.hubs@enfield.gov.uk specifying the role you are interested in, and we will contact you to discuss further. We will arrange an interview with you, and if both parties are happy, we will start the DBS and reference process.

We will then book a date for your induction and training. Once completed, we will agree on a start date.

Hear from some of our volunteers

"The reason I am doing volunteering work in Edmonton Green Community Hub is because I am the kind of person who loves to share my time to people in need of it, and to put a smile on the face of people I work with. I am happy to give my free time to help out !" – Chris

"I volunteer one morning weekly in the Edmonton Community Food Pantry run by Enfield council. It is a nice way of keeping some routine in my week as it provides me with physical and mental stimulus. I also get to meet and interact with many new people, the food pantry customers, council staff and others, which I enjoy too." – Roni

"My Experience at the Hub has been truly impressive, especially from the first time I came here. The team is so warm and welcoming, always creating a positive vibe. Even the regular visitors have become more confident with each other, and I love being a part of this community. The staff do an amazing job helping people have fun, build confidence, having coffee and chat, engaging in great conversations and sharing happy moments. The sense of togetherness here is truly special." – Albana

"I am a volunteer in Edmonton Green Library. I volunteer on Tuesday for Coffee and Chat, I also volunteer on a Wednesday for Songs, Stories and Chat. I love helping out and seeing new people within the community coming in and meeting each other making new friends. On a Wednesday we have parents and ther children come along to the session, seeing their children interact with the songs and listening to the story is so heart warming. I also manage the Wednesday session, I love making sure that everyone is happy and comfortable to be with us. Not to mention the staff are amazing and always there to help. I am honoured to be part of the team." – Sumeya

"For me, its all about the opportunity to help people as much as possible, with the added advantage of learning lots of new skills along the way. I’ve certainly managed to establish my own style of support and how effective communication can help people feel at ease in the process." – John

"Volunteering with the Community Hubs has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s amazing to be part of a team that makes a real difference, creating a welcoming space for everyone. I’ve met wonderful people, learned new skills, and seen first hand how small acts of kindness can have a big impact. I truly appreciate the opportunity to support initiatives that bring people together and strengthen our community." – Perarasi

"What a great opportunity to give back to society and through a local authority setting. It is a lovely journey Volunteering and giving back my skills of literacy, events management, and above all serving vulnerable people with a view of living a better life." – Patrick
