When you can volunteer
You can volunteer at various locations, depending on the workshop schedule. Each workshop lasts 3 hours, and you can volunteer for up to 9 hours if you choose to support 3 workshops.
Purpose of the role
As a Digital Champion, you will help with our Digital Inclusion Workshops. Your role is to assist individuals in becoming more confident in using computers, smartphones, and the internet. This is important for bridging the digital divide and ensuring everyone can benefit from technology.
Key responsibilities
- Help workshop attendees learn basic digital skills like using email, browsing the internet, and accessing online services
- Assist participants in setting up devices and navigating key applications
- Encourage and motivate individuals who are new to digital technology
- Create a friendly and inclusive learning environment
- Work with workshop facilitators to ensure sessions run smoothly
Requirements
- Confident in using computers and digital devices
- Able to support others with patience and clear communication
- Enthusiastic about digital inclusion and community engagement
- Reliable and willing to commit to supporting workshops when available
- Willing to undertake DBS check and complete full training provided by WO Consultancy
