You can report illegal street trading if anyone is selling items on the street for a profit without a street trading licence.
Licenses are not needed for:
- alcohol wholesalers
- buskers
- certified pedlars
- charitable collections approved by the Metropolitan Police Service
- leaflet advertising
- news vendors (including Big Issue sellers)
- not for profit markets on private land, Enfield Town and Edmonton Green
Individuals found street trading illegally can receive a £150 fixed penalty notice, go to court and receive an additional fine of up to £1,000. Any goods can also be taken as evidence.
