Vehicle removals and release charges

We may remove your vehicle if you do not comply with parking restrictions.

You will need to pay a fee and have the correct supporting documents to release your car.

We accept all payments methods except American Express and cheques.

You will also need to bring 2 supporting documents to release your vehicle, one from each of the lists below.

If you want to collect a vehicle on behalf of the owner, you must bring a signed letter from the owner giving permission and stating proof of ownership. We will also require identification from the person collecting the vehicle.

Vehicle release charges

Penalty charges are set by the London Councils Transport and Environment Committee, with approval from the Mayor of London and the Secretary of State.

The level of penalty charges and associated fees have not been reviewed since 2010. Following a recommendation to increase these fees, the new charges and additional fees will take effect in the London Borough of Enfield from 7 April 2025.

If your vehicle was removed on or after 7 April 2025, the following charges will apply:

Appeal against removals

After you have collected your vehicle from the car pound, you have 28 days to appeal the removal decision and the issue of the penalty charge notice. You cannot appeal against the removal until your vehicle has been released from the car pound.

Trace your vehicle

You can trace a vehicle towed away by any London council by visiting TRACE. This service is available anytime, and will tell you which car pound the vehicle has been taken to, and how to get it released.
