We are always looking for ways to better celebrate, understand and conserve our heritage, while making the planning system easier to navigate. Here are some recent, ongoing projects led by the Heritage Team.
Local Heritage List 2024
The Local Heritage List 2024 (PDF, 24086.81 KB), adopted on 16 December 2024, replaces the 2018 edition. This list will be considered in planning applications and will help manage the borough’s heritage as we draft a new Local Plan.
Lavender Hill Cemetery Chapel
In 2024, we received grant funding from the National Heritage Lottery Fund, The Pilgrim Trust and The Enfield Society, for the ‘Lavender Hill – Chapel and Community’ project. This project, in partnership with London Historic Buildings Trust, aims to conserve, restore and bring the chapel back into use.
Other projects
Broomfield House
In January 2024, we received initial support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for the project ‘Unlocking Broomfield Park for the Community’. This project aims to revitalise Broomfield Park, explore its rich heritage, and provide activities for the community and stakeholders.
