Green spaces across the borough contribute to its unique character. These can include:
- agricultural land
- historic parklands
- public parks
- cemeteries
Registered parks and gardens
The National Heritage List for England is the official register of parks and gardens, which includes designed landscapes. The register is maintained by Historic England.
Registered parks and gardens are not protected by a separate consent regime. However, any planning permission for development affecting them, will consider their special character and prioritise their conservation.
Local heritage
Enfield has other landscapes of heritage significance that may not qualify as registered parks and gardens. We have created a Local Heritage List to identify and highlight the importance of these landscapes and parks.
Conservation Management Plans
We have prepared Conservation Management Plans to help protect and celebrate these important landscapes.
