Non-designated heritage assets are buildings, structures or landscapes of heritage significance that do not meet the criteria for designated heritage assets. We have created a Local Heritage List to identify and highlight these assets in the borough.
Local Heritage List 2024
In 2024, we published a new Local Heritage List (PDF, 24086.81 KB), replacing the 2018 list.
Local heritage lists provide a consistent and accountable way of identifying local heritage assets with the help of the community. It ensures their importance is taken into account in planning applications.
Sculptures
In 2004, a sculpture survey was carried out to identify sculptures across the borough. View the Sculpture Survey (PDF, 401.05 KB) and its Index (PDF, 103.15 KB).
We plan to update this resource with the help of community groups in the future.
Blue plaques
The London blue plaque scheme started in 1866, and is run by English Heritage. To find out more about blue plaques in the borough or to propose a new plaque, visit English Heritage - Blue plaques.
In 2018, a list of Historic Blue Plaques in the London Borough of Enfield (PDF, 284.58 KB) was compiled. This includes those placed by English Heritage and other local organisations.
Historic street furniture
In 2024, The Enfield Society began compiling a list of historic street furniture, including finger posts, cattle troughs and bye-law plaques. We will upload this list to our website once completed.
