Online planning register and decision notices
You can use the online planning register to view and comment on current planning applications and documents. The register contains planning application records from 1948, but most application documents are only available online from 2006.
The register has many different search options, as well as a map. You can see the progress of an application, submit your comments, and set up email alerts for applications or locations you're interested in.
To do this you will need to register, which is separate from an Enfield Connected account. The planning case officer can be identified on the register's 'further information' tab. If you experience problems, please email planning.support@enfield.gov.uk and we will create an account for you.
All comments are held on our internal electronic file. They cannot currently be viewed online. You can arrange to view comments made by contacting planning.support@enfield.gov.uk.
The online user guide (PDF, 156.27 KB) can help with any other questions you may have.

Valid applications
Only valid planning applications are published on the online planning register. If the planning fee is not paid, or information is missing, the registration process will not start. If an application is invalid, an email will be sent to the applicant or the agent, within 5 working days of receipt.
Once an application has been acknowledged as valid, it will be published on the online planning register. The publicity expiry date will indicate when a proposal is under consideration.
All application documents can be viewed, including the decision notice and planning officer's report, once issued.
If you believe your planning application should be on the register, check with your agent. If you do not have an agent working for you, email planning.support@enfield.gov.uk.
Commenting
The best way to comment on an application is online as this is automatically received by the planning officer and recorded in our system. As the web form will time out after 20 minutes and you will lose any comments that have not been submitted, our advice is to draft your comments in another programme, such as notepad or MS Word, and then copy and paste your comments to the web form.
You can request email confirmation when you submit your comments. If you experience problems submitting your comments this way, you can send them by email to planning.support@enfield.gov.uk.
Open planning process
We are required to publish submitted applications so interested third parties can review proposed works and development and submit their comments. This supports the open planning process.
The online application service restricts personal data on the application from being published. We are not responsible for builders or trade professionals who may contact applicants because of required information on the application form that is published.
Viewing planning application files
If you're having trouble finding planning application information:
- Try a different search criteria or postcode
- If it is before 2007, historical planning documents may not be available online and will need to be requested
- Works may not require planning permission if they are permitted developments
Town and Country Planning Act 1947 – Section 14(5)
Public request to inspect the statutory register – from 1 September 2024
We do not have facilities to provide paper copies of any planning information, including drawings and decision notices. However, you can still access the statutory register in the following ways:
- Online: View applications on our online planning register
- Scan on demand service: Send an email to planning.support@enfield.gov.uk with your name, telephone number, planning reference numbers, and the documents you need (for example, decision notice and proposed plans)
If you choose our scan on demand service, we will retrieve the records upon receiving your written request. We will then contact you to confirm the availability of the records, the required fee, and payment instructions. We aim to complete this process within 10 working days. Once payment is received, the information will be sent directly to you.
Please note, we cannot guarantee the availability or readability of the information. Records are stored across multiple sites, which may cause delays. We will keep you updated if there are any delays or if the records are no longer available.
