Poetry in Palmers Green
The renowned poet Stevie Smith (1902 - 1971) lived in Palmers Green from the age of three until her death.
A public event was held to increase local awareness of her work amongst the community in October 2022, including an exhibition of poems and drawings created by Palmers Green residents. This was promoted through shop window displays of Stevie Smith’s typical Peter Pan collars, decorated by local children and triggering wider local interest and pride in this nationally recognised poet.
