A celebration of Pymmes Park Bowls Club
Pymmes Park Bowls Club first opened its doors on the 16 June 1906. In recent years, the building had become tired and unrecognisable as a bowls club to residents.
In Spring 2022 the artists 34Bus Collective worked with members of the club and the local community to collect oral stories from members.
You can listen to more oral stories on YouTube:
- John Tisbury
- Stuart Leigh
- Pat Bandy, Sylvie Howards and Dawn Rowlands
- Jean Edwards
- Bill Farrinton
- Alan Newson
They also painted a mural across the clubhouse. The mural celebrates the club’s long history with illustrated figures from the club’s past and present creating a welcoming and colourful entrance for potential new members.
