Free furniture collections by British Heart Foundation
British Heart Foundation offer free collection of furniture in good condition.
Your unwanted good quality furniture is resold, and all proceeds go towards heart disease research and patient care.
There is no limit on the number of collections your household can receive. Collections are made Wednesday to Saturday, 8am to 3pm.
British Heart Foundation will only collect furniture from inside your home. Items must be clean and dry, with fire labels attached.

Please note - If your furniture is not suitable for British Heart Foundation to collect and resell, you can arrange for us to collect it or take it to Barrowell Green Recycling Centre.
Free bulky waste collections by Enfield Council
You can ask us to collect furniture and other non-electrical bulky items from your home, free of charge.
Your free collection will be based on your postcode. Alternatively, you can choose a day that suits you, but we will charge a fee of £19.
We can collect the following items:
- armchairs, sofas and futons
- bathroom furniture (plastic or ceramic only)
- beds (bed base, mattress and headboard are counted as one item)
- carpets and rugs (must be tied into manageable bundles)
- doors (without glass)
- dustbins
- fence panels (must be tied into manageable bundles with all nails removed)
- mirrors
- plastic water tanks
- rotary washing lines
- satellite dishes
- tables and chairs
- trampolines (taken apart)
- wood flooring (must be tied into manageable bundles with all nails removed)
Sorry but we cannot collect:
- bricks
- building material
- electrical items
- garden waste
- gas bottles
- glass
- large fluid containers
- rubble and soil
- tree trunks and thick branches
- tyres
Important information about your bulky waste collection
- Number of items - You can book up to 6 items per collection
- Collection day - Your free collection will be based on your postcode. However, for a fee of £19, you can arrange a collection on a day that suits you (see information below)
- Where to leave your items - You need to leave your items at the front edge boundary of your property by 5:30am on the morning of your booked collection. If you live in a block of flats, place your items by your bin store area, or where you would place your rubbish for collection. You do not need to be home for the collection.
- Collection times - Collections are made Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 4pm
- Items not left out - If your items are not out for collection on your booked collection day, you will not receive a refund
Flats and housing estates
Bulky collection points for council housing estates will be by the bin store. Anything left away from this area will be treated as fly-tipping and reported to waste enforcement for further investigation. Please speak with your caretaking service team for further information about disposing of bulky waste responsibly.
Pay to choose your bulky waste collection day
You can choose a specific day for your bulky waste collection for a fee of £19.
If you want next-day collection, you need to book before 12pm. Once you have made your payment, your booking is confirmed.

Free electrical collections
You can arrange a free collection of electrical items by visiting AnyJunk.
They collect items such as:
- dishwashers
- fridges and freezers
- lamps
- TVs
- washing machines
Please note - this service is operated on behalf of the North London Waste Authority. Collection wait times may be longer than the paid for service operated by Enfield Council.
Electrical collections by Enfield Council
You can pay for us to collect electrical appliances and equipment from your home. We can collect up to 3 household electrical items at a time. There is no limit on your number of collections per year.
We can collect the following items:
- cookers
- computers
- dishwashers
- fridges and freezers
- electric lawnmowers
- kettles
- microwaves
- storage heaters (without bricks)
- tumble dryers and washing machines
- TVs, videos, stereos and DVD players

Important information about your electrical collection
- Your booking - All collections must be booked by 12:30pm on Friday, for collection the following week. Any collections booked after this time will not be actioned. Once you have made your payment, your booking is confirmed.

- Collection times - Collections are usually made on Wednesdays between 5:30am and 4pm

Request an electrical collection
Cancellations and missed collections
There is a £24 charge for cancelling your collection with less than 3 working days' notice. You will not receive a refund if you cancel with less than one working days' notice.
Missed collections must be reported within 24 hours of collection day. Reports made after this time may not be investigated.
